Strong at the Break by Jon Land

Fifth generation Texas Ranger Caitlin Strong returns in her most personal and desperate adventure yet, an adventure that has its roots in a gunfight years before in which her father shot down the cult-like leader of a separatist church.

Two decades later that man’s son, Malcolm Arno, has become head of a militia movement bent on unleashing chaos and anarchy across the country. With all the guns and money he needs to unleash a second Civil War, nothing seems to be standing in Arno’s way. Until his actions run him afoul of Caitlin Strong.

Already mired in one investigation of drug smuggling over the U.S.-Canadian border and another involving an Iraqi war veteran who claims the army is trying to kill him, Caitlin finds herself embroiled in the search for the kidnapped son of her sometime lover, former outlaw Cort Wesley Masters. When the missing boy’s trail leads straight to Malcolm Arno’s fortified Texas compound, the three disparate trails Caitlin has been following converge in an explosion of violence that will put her teachings to the ultimate test.

From the frozen rivers at the border with Canada to the desert wastelands of Mexico, the stage has been set for a battle like none neither Caitlin nor Cort Wesley has ever faced before where the stakes are nothing less than the survival of America as we know it.

Sounds great! The Texas/ Arizona border is turning into a no-mans land so why not have a women clean up the place! Can she do what the Mexican army can’t and defeat the drug cartels? Can she stop human trafficking across the border? Well? Can she?? Can’t wait!!

Sorry it’s taken me so long to get back to you, but I wanted to personally thank you for being the first person to post on my Website . . . and hopefully not the last! Have you read the other Caitlin Strong novels, STRONG ENOUGH TO DIE and STRONG JUSTICE? A company called Open Road Integrated Media is also about to launch my long out of print first thirteen books as E-Books for the first time. Lots going on, in other words.

So stay in touch and let me know what you think about Caitlin!

I am hooked on Caitlin Strong. I was a fan of the TV series Chase and at first I thought Caitlin was supposed to be the character from that show. After reading Strong Enough to Die, I realized Caitlin Strong was an unique character in the multimedia world. After finding the second book in the new book section of my local library, I read the books out of order. I was disappointed when I found out there are only two Strong novels but I am eagerly awaiting Strong at the Break. Thanks for this great character and the tie-ins to her historic family. I am already planning another trip to the Ranger Museum in Waco. Living in Plano,Texas, it’s fun to read about local folks. Thanks again for writing such a brilliant page turner. Are there any plans for film? I hope so. By the way, I am going back and reading all your other earlier books
